Cecil Frances Alexander born in Dublin (Early April 1818, Ireland – 12 October 1895), was a hymn-writer and poet.  Among her many well known hymns is “Once in Royal David's City".

One of my favorite hymns, particulary when sung by a well-rehearsed church choir in a candle-lit centuries old church.
